I compare my school with Cobham Intermediate

Oamaru Intermediate School VS Cobham Intermediate School

This will make a long lasting Rivalry... maybe...

Similarities

Both in New Zealand

They specialise in year 7 & 8 (grades 6 & 7)

Differences (1 point will be scored for whoever is bigger or better):

Size

O.I.S  200 cubic metres (200 x 200 metres)

C.I.S   150 cubic metres (150 x 150 metres)

Decile scale
(the less the number the less money they need from the Government to run)

O.I.S: 6

C.I.S: 8

Number of pupils

O.I.S 382

C.I.S 624 (the school is small for the number of pupils!)

Suburbs that they are in:

O.I.S: Oamaru with a population of : 14,667

C.I.S: Christchurch with a population of 398,520

Total score

O.I.S- 2

C.I.S- 2

TIEBREAKER:

Best rating on Google (weirdest tiebreaker ever)

O.I.S: 4.6 stars

C.I.S: 3.5 stars

BUT... Cobham Intermediate had more good reviews than bad reviews meaning that it's a Tie!

  1. Levi - do you know that when I was a Year 8 I went to Cobham Intermediate? I love that you chose them to compare to OIS! Google ratings are indeed an interesting choice of tiebreaker - I wonder why Cobham has a lower rating?! I might have to go and have a look....

  2. This is an interesting way to compare these two schools! Are they close to each other? It seems like one is quite a bit bigger than the other. Do you know many students at both schools?
Our school district (in Illinois, US) has 11 elementary schools, all with 7 grades (kindergarten - 6th grade) and about 50 kids per grade level. It would be interesting to do a comparison like you have done of our schools!
    Thanks for sharing!
